Looking for graphics mods, UI mods, weapon mods or settlement mods? We’ve gathered a list of the best Fallout 4 mods for PS4, PC and Xbox one with Download Link.
1. Full Dialogue Interface
Sometimes your character something you completely did not intend. This is because of Fallout 4’s paraphrased dialogue system, which only gives you a rough idea of what each dialogue option is saying instead of the full line. To avoid any confusion, and just to be crystal clear what you’re saying, The Full Dialogue Interface mod brings the game back to the Fallout 3 way of doing things. A very nice mod for players who found the inaccurate dialogue trees to be occasionally baffling.

2. Everyone’s Best Friend (Dogmeat + Companion At Same Time)
Dogmeat is everyone’s favorite nuclear wasteland dog. Obviously. We didn’t need to clarify that, but as a companion he can be a little underwhelming, particularly in combat. This mod allows you to have an extra companion following you and keep Dogmeat by your side. He has his benefits, but he sucks in combat. This mod allows you to keep those benefits without missing out on some helpful combat aid.

3. Stronger Dogmeat
Alternatively, you could just make Dogmeat stronger in combat. This mod does exactly that. Dogmeat will no longer put out a meager 1-2 dps to your foes, he will now do 58 dps. Now there’s a Good Boy.

4. SimpleSeasons
Although Fallout 4 is a more vibrant game than 3, there’s no doubt that after dozens of hours in the wasteland you may start to get tired of all the greys and browns. SimpleSeasons brings some life back post-apocalypse Boston. This mod will turn the wasteland into a snow-coated landscape, a lush and green beauty, a Summer blend of orange and yellow leaves, or an autumnal array of leaves about to fall off their trees. Be sure to download the four versions of this mod, each reflecting the four seasons, to experience the wonderful variety this mod has to offer.

5. Any Mod Any Weapon
Fallout 4 limits what you can do to change and improve your weapons. Not all mods will fit on all weapons, which does make a certain degree of sense, right? This mod throws logic out of the window in the pursuit of chaos. Ever wanted to shove a Deathclaw’s hand into a boxing glove, or create a pistol that can fire cannon balls? Then this is the mod for you. Go nuts, and see what crazy new weapons you can create with this truly sandbox mod.

6. MGS Aiming
A neat little mod that allows will switch to first-person when you aim-down-sights and switch back when you stop, just like Metal Gear Solid. A cool mod for players who like to switch perspectives frequently.

7. Intimidation Overhaul
Intimidating is a fun thing to do, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that, right? Point your gun at someone and make them do your bidding. Good stuff. But it’s also pretty limited in Fallout 4. This mod adds a number of new things you can do with intimidation, such as shaking them down, putting them in handcuffs, or making them run away. A nice mod that makes intimidation a bit more interesting.
8. Improved Map with Visible Roads
A neat little quality-of-life mod that adds roads to the map to help you get about a bit easier. If you prefer to stick to the roads, this mod is for you.

9. True Storms
The True Storms mod adds a bit of chaos to the wasteland and makes it feel more like a nuclear wasteland rather than just a regular old apocalypse-stricken world. This mod adds radioactive rain, heavy fog, heavier rain, dust storms, and more.

10. Take Cover
This mod overhauls the third-person combat by adding a cover system like Mass Effect or Gears of War. It lets you take cover, lean out and snap back to cover, and even vault over low obstacles. It helps to make the third-person combat feel more dynamic and less static. A cool little mod.

11. Beast Master
Add a little Pokemon to your Fallout with this beast-capturing mod. Not only does this mod allow you to capture beasts and use them as companions, it also lets you customize them and dress them in armor, put trackers on them so you don’t lose them, manage their happiness by feeding them treats, and more. There’s plenty of powerful creatures in the wasteland, why not use them to your advantage?

12. Alternative Start
Tired of the same old start? Played Fallout 4 several times and looking for a different and quicker way to start the game? Alternative Start allows you to start as someone other than the Vault Dweller. Start as a citizen of Good neighbour, a raider or merc for hire, a passenger aboard a sinking ship, a member of the Church of Atom, and more.

13. OCDecorator
This neat little quality-of-life mod makes it easier to place objects onto other objects, making it much easier to decorate your settlements and keep things looking nice and tidy. A must-have if you’re into the building stuff in this game.

14. Lowered Weapons
It may not bother everyone, but personally, I always found it a little weird when your character talks to people with his/her gun pointed at them always felt unnecessarily menacing. This mod gives you the option to lower your weapon and quit being such a jerk.

15. Legendary Modifications
This mod allows you to expand your weapon modding to the next level and create something truly powerful. Create and attach an attribute from legendary weapons or armour to any weapon you want. Some of these attributes are pretty strong so experiment away and see just how powerful you can make that hunting rifle!

Let us know if we missed anything!
My approach to modding Fallout 4 is laid-back: I want to make the game better, but I don’t want to fundamentally change it all that much.
I haven’t actually “finished” the game yet, by which I mean I haven’t seen the main narrative questline through to its conclusion. I lost interest in the story soon after finding The Institute, and these days I mostly just wander the wasteland shooting things, min/maxing my stats, and trying out new mods.
I’m keeping things fairly chill, especially at first. It’s par for the course for me and Bethesda games: I don’t usually install world-changing mods; I avoid “beautified” mods that add ENB injectors and more colorful textures to everything; I don’t use mods that dramatically overhaul NPC behavior or add new characters.
I’ve tried a lot of different mods over the last month or so, and I’ve settled on these five as my everyday, go-with-it mods. I made a video walking through each of the mods, which you can watch here:
These mods are all easy to find on the Fallout 4 nexus. Here they are, with a few thoughts on each.

True Storms - Wasteland Edition by fadingsignal
We’ve written about this mod on its own, and I’ve had it installed since shortly after our initial article went up. True Storms makes storms and other weather in Fallout 4 more frequent and more intense, and completely overhauls how radiation storms look and function.

It’s the most dramatic mod I have installed, and I’m a fan. I don’t love how Fallout 4 looks in general, but it looks much better with more dramatic weather effects. That’s partly because the game’s blah-textures and visuals are obscured by the new effects, but also because Fallout 4’s most evocative visuals involve huge buildings looming out of fog and dust, beckoning you to explore.

Improved Map With Visible Roads by mm137
This mod is almost humorously chill, which is what I like about it. It slightly updates the map with a more readable grid and more visible roads and pathways, which makes it easier to plot a course across the Commonwealth Wastes. These days I like playing Fallout 4 without having any notifications on my HUD, relying entirely on my pip-boy for navigation. This mod makes it easier to do that, because I can see which roads run where, which makes it easier for me to plot a course. It’s not a dramatic difference, but it’s still surprisingly useful.

Lowered Weapons by lesma666
Here’s about as un-dramatic a mod as you can get: The entire purpose of this mod is to put your guns into a “ready” or “patrol” stance when you’re not actively aiming at something. At first it feels a little weird, probably because we’ve become so used to playing FPSes where our character walks around pointing their gun at everything all the time.

Give it an hour, though, and it starts to feel much more natural. This mod provides an interesting, likely unintentional commentary on the popular criticism that Fallout 4is more shooter than role-playing game. Sure, you explore in this game, but you mostly just seek out new places to shoot things. The lowered weapons mod at least suggests a Fallout 4 where exploration is the default, and shooting comes second.

Darker Nights by unforbidable
This mod does what the title says: it makes Fallout 4’s nights darker. These mods have always been popular for Bethesda games, but I actually haven’t always used them. I’ve really been liking this one, though, as I’ve pushed toward making Fallout 4 more immersive and difficult for myself. The mod makes it clear just how bright Fallout 4’s vanilla nights are, and pairs well with the weather mod to make a nighttime thunderstorm a dark, beautiful thing.

Full Dialogue Interface by Cirosan and shadwar
Another one I’ve written about on its own, FDI changes Fallout 4’s often frustrating dialogue system to more accurately reflect the actual words your character is about to say. It dramatically changes the feeling of conversation, to the point that I wish I’d had it installed from the very start.
Of course, FDI doesn’t change the fact that the majority of dialogue choices in Fallout 4 are false ones that lead to the same preordained outcome, but all the same it makes the game feel much more like an actual role-playing game. Feeling isn’t the same as being, but it’s still an improvement.
Those are the five mods that I’ve been using consistently for the last little while; I’ve yet to go deeper on popular recent mods like Armorsmith Extended or all those clothing mods Patricia recently wrote about. I probably will at some point, but for now, for me, low-impact Fallout 4 modding is the way to go.

Using the map available in Fallout 4 might sometimes prove difficult. The Improved Map with Visible Roads mod handles this issue perfectly.
Traveling through the post-apocalyptic Boston - a territory with a huge number of locations - might have been extremely difficult without a well-designed map. Unfortunately, the one available in the game by default is not legible enough and does not fully meet players' expectations.
The Improved Map with Visible Roads modification makes the map look as it should have right from the start. The author has highlighted the roads and tracks, improved the topography, made the banks of the water basins more visible, and improved the marker system.
Moreover, the map now features higher brightness and contrast, which highlights the aforementioned novelties. In this modification, a player can also find certain optional changes - numerical system signifying the regions.
Installation
Due to the available options, it is recommended to install this modification via Nexus Mod Manager. During the installation process, one can select optional changes and choose the preferred map brightness level.
Players have been enjoying Bethesda’s latest post-apocalyptic RPG for two weeks now. While many people enjoyed the game, many others have pointed out places where it comes up lacking. Even though Bethesda doesn’t plan to release the Creation Kit until next year, the modding community is already improving the game in ways both large and small. Here are the ten best mods that have been released so far.
Craftable Ammunition
There isn’t too much crafting in Fallout 4, aside from objects for settlements. Nexus user Xylozi’s new mod changes that by introducing a crafting system for ammunition. Players create the individual elements for each ammo type at the cooking station, and then craft the ammo itself at the chemistry station. Ammo can also be broken down into its junk parts at the cooking station. For those who have had a hard time finding mini-nukes, but have a lot of unused nuclear material, this mod may come in handy. You can get more details about how to craft ammo types and can download the mod here.
Lowered Weapons
The player character is almost always pointing his or her gun when a weapon is drawn. This can be annoying in first person, since it obscures a large chunk of the screen. For some, simply holstering the gun may be enough, but for those who prefer to move about The Commonwealth with weapons drawn, this simple mod will be a welcome addition. Installing it will make it so that the player character has the gun in a down position when not firing, obscuring much less of the screen. Many players may find this adds to the game’s immersion. User lesma666 is taking suggestions on how to improve the mod. You can download it here.
Value per Weight Indicator for Container UIFallout 4 Improved Map With Visible Roads Fix
This is another simple, yet very helpful mod. Scavenging the wasteland can involve difficult decisions about which items to lug back home for sale or salvage. While selling to vendors is now not the only way to use unwanted items, it is still a helpful method of making money. This mod, by Nexus author CyberShadow, adds additional information to the UI about items’ value per pound. This should help players decide what scrap, armor, and weapons are worth taking with them. You can download it here.
Darker Nights
This one is relatively straightforward. Darker nights mods are popular for most Bethesda games, and most ENBs for prior releases included darkening effects. Many players undoubtedly want a truly pitch-black experience wandering the wasteland. The author, unforbidable, notes that these nights are not tremendously darker, but still noticeably so. The tool allows users to pick from seven levels of darkness, ranging from just shadier than vanilla, to the most dark. You can download it here.
Recycle bin will not empty. Note: The Recycle Bin shows only the items that you have deleted.
Improved Map with Visible Roads
Fallout 4’s default map is murky, and certain aspects, like roads, are hard to distinguish. It gets the job done, but it could easily display geographical information more clearly. Mm137 has spruced up the default map. The mod replaces the murky original with a higher contrast version, which helps make roads, topography, and waterlines clearer to see. Because some users may find it too bright, there’s a slightly darker version as well. You can download it here.
Higher Settlement Budget
This one is simple, yet powerful. Bethesda places a limit on how much you can build in any given settlement. While this may not be a problem for some players, for those who have built fortresses out of Sanctuary, Tenpines Bluff, and other locations, this is a much needed addition to the game. With this tool, author GrimTech – PatrickJr helps you place even more objects of any kind in any settlement you like. It will also pair well with the SSEx mod featured below. You can download it here.
Settlement Supplies Expanded (SSEx)
As its name implies, this mod expands the supplies available to build and craft at settlements. Author Troy Irving wondered why there was such a low number of objects at his disposal, so he’s been adding more. This includes (as of press time, or mod update 1.8): 71 useable furniture items, 80 doors, 228 static objects, and an alternate power armor rack. There are custom categories, along with other additions. The project is so extensive and deep, he’s written a guide to all of the objects players can take advantage of. You can download it here.
Fallout 4 Configuration Tool by Bilago
Players who love to endlessly tweak their game configurations will enjoy this mod. The tool adds an expanded configuration launcher with a variety of helpful features. Some of these include an FOV tracker, a Pip Boy color changer, toggles for Depth of Field and Bokeh, toggles for Mouse Acceleration, framerate lock, mouse sensitivity, and windowed borderless mode. Bilago notes that this is still a work in progress. You can download it here.
Fallout 4 Texture Optimization Project
Not everyone can play Bethesda’s latest at Ultra settings with all the bells and whistles turned on. The game’s vanilla textures are massive, with ground textures running at 2048×2048 and plant textures running at 1024×1024. The Mod’s author, torcher, wants to improve Fallout 4’s framerate without sacrificing much visual fidelity at middle and long distances, especially for players who need all the extra FPS they can get. The modder has replaced the game’s textures with lower resolution textures that still retain an acceptable appearance. You can download it here. Doom cheats pc 2017.
Full Dialogue Interface
You may have noticed that the provided dialogue options don’t always match up with what your character will actually say. Sometimes, this is only a slight, harmless change in wording. Other times, however, what he or she actually says is drastically different than what the dialogue option presented. The Full Dialogue Interface mod changes the dialogue prompts so that they reflect exactly what your character will say if you choose that option. The default appearance is a list format with numbers in brackets, but the modders, Shadwar and Ciro, have included several appearance options based on your preferences, including one that looks like the vanilla diamond-shaped format. You can download it here.
Fallout 4 Improved Map With Visible Roads ModBonus Mods:
Darker Worn Helmeted cage armor – The visual retexturing done here is better looking than vanilla.
Clean Power Armor HUD – Those who can’t stand the intrusive Power Armor UI will enjoy this one, although it could also be improved.
